En smakebit på søndag er noko Mari på bloggen flukten fra virkeligheten arrangerer kvar søndag. Du deler ein smakebit i frå boka du les utan å røpe for mykje, så legg du igjen linken her.
I dag er min smakebit i frå denne boka:
If Sam Carrolhadn't shown up, she might have been able to get to her mother in time. Instead, Ally Everly finds herself at a funeral, mourning the loss of her beloved mother. She is dealt another blow when, a few hours later, she is sent from Tennessee to Main to become the daughter of Miss Beatrice Lovell, a prim woman with a faith Allie cannot accept.
Poetry and letters written to her mother become the only things keeping Allie's heart from hardening completely. But then Sam arrives for the summer, and with him come many confusing emotions, both toward him and the people around her. As world war II looms, Allie will be forced to decide whether hanging on he past is worth losing her chance to be loved.

Min smakebit.
"The moon is distant from the sea," Mama murmured, "and yet with the amber lands, she leads him, docile as a boy along appointed sands."Eg er sikker på at tårene kjem til å trille etterkvart. Til nå er boka kjempebra og ho er utrulig bra skriven. Anbefales.
I turned to look at Mama, She was staring at the sky, a strange look on her face. She was so beautiful ... so light and delicate.
I was confused. "Mama," I whispered, "we aren't at the sea." I'd never been tot eh sea, and I was quite sure she hadn't been in many, many years.
Mama's lips upturned in a little smile. "That was Dickinson." She reached over and stroked my cheek. Her eyes had a faroff mist. "One day you'll understand, Allie. One day you'll be a great writer too."
"Is that what you want for me?" I whispererd.
Mama nodded slowly, stroking my cheek. "Yes, my miracle. I want you to write and I want you to be happy."
ps. Omtale av the first wife av Emily Barr kjem snart.
